Jobs of Tomorrow

Starting 2016 and spread out over 4 years, the New South Wales Government will be offering 25,000 scholarships for selected qualifications under their ‘Smart and Skilled Program’.

“People with skills in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) are in high demand. If you are interested in training in these skills, you may be eligible for a $1,000 Jobs of Tomorrow scholarship under the NSW Government’s Smart and Skilled Program” – Smart and Skilled Program website

As of 15 June 2016, 800 students have already applied for the scholarship since it was opened in January 2016. Regional Surveying Industry groups are supporting the program to help meet the looming shortage of Surveyors in the future.

Eligibility
To be eligible for a Jobs of Tomorrow Scholarship, students must meet the Smart and Skilled personal eligibility criteria including be enrolled in a qualification that is eligible such as the Certificate IV and Diploma in Surveying. To enrol in a Certificate IV or Diploma, a 6 month Certificate III in Surveying and Spatial Information Services is typically required, so please check with relevant institutions for more details.
